Love in Silence: The Power of Meditation for a Calm Mind

Being quiet is a superpower; in a world of noise and a fear of being alone, the ability to be alone is something very few people have. 

Meditation is to think deeply or focus one's mind for some time in silence; there are a few reasons people meditate; some are religious, but one that anyone can relate to is meditating as a form of relaxation. A key guideline to life is avoiding making decisions in heightened emotional states. Anger, sadness, depression, and regret cloud the mind and confuse the senses, making it difficult to conceive good decisions. 

Life is about choices. The choices we make determine the future and so when looking back on your life consider what you decided to do that led you to where you are. 

I believe when you know better you do better, and being able to make good decisions like everything else is a high form of loving yourself, and your future. When you're relaxed you are in a heightened state, you are able to think clearly and formulate deeper meaning to whatever comes your way. 

Meditation can take the form of many things, and whatever works for you is correct, silence, rain sounds, music, white noise, to focus in a relaxed state without distractions using any of these mediums contributes to meditation and allows you to grow mentally and emotionally. You're tapped in to who you are, what you are and what you have to do. The secret to success is a calm mind, one that allows you to feel comfortable, to feel good, to eliminate feelings of anxiety and stress. 

A calm state and love are two sides of the same coin. To feel the most love, most people receive it only in the most gentle forms. Instead of attributing love to a feeling, consider maybe how calmness is one of the terms that relate to what love truly is. That silent state amidst the noise of everyday life is a loving state you can choose to put yourself in daily. Any amount of time is fine, whether it be 15, 20 or 30 minutes time to yourself in quiet meditation that brings you to a calm place is a commitment to being love, to feeling love and through these actions you exude love to everyone you come into contact with. Take the time to be calm to be love and watch how your life changes.
